CdM freshman Chloe Rice, has been selected to play on the U.S. National Deaflympic Soccer Team. The Deaflympics, a world-wide sporting event sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee in which the competitors are all deaf or hearing-impaired. Like the Olympics, the Deaflympics are held every four years, dating back to 1924 when the first games were held in Paris.

Memorial Day is usually a day to relax with family, barbeque in the backyard, and remember the brave men and women who have died defending our country.  However, this past Memorial Day was a somber one.  On May 27, 2013, a car with five teenagers crashed into a tree on Jamboree; no one survived. Police that first arrived at the scene described it at “the worst accident in decades”.  Whether drugs or alcohol were involved is still under investigation, but it is known that the car was going so fast, it split in two when it hit the tree...- READ MORE -

This Saturday, June 15th, Youth and Government will be hosting its very first Benefit Concert. The Future Generation is being held at the new Newport Beach City Center, near the Newport Beach Public Library. The concert will start at 6:30pm and will end around or before 9:00pm. Performers include Point Loma, Foley featuring Sophie Shambrook, and 28 Axis. - READ MORE - 

NHS and HRC  results are out

After a seemingly endless period of stress for all involved – both those applying and those administrating – the results for NHS applications have been released today. The list can be seen in front of the SRC taped onto the glass.

As the year comes to a close, the leadership groups put on their last events and wrapped up the year.  The main task that all leadership groups must do now is pick new staff members for the following years.
